Joseph Bonomi the Younger ( 9 October 1796 – 3 March 1878) was an English sculptor, artist, egyptologist and museum curator.
His father, Joseph Bonomi the Elder, had worked with Robert and James Adam, while his older brother, Ignatius Bonomi, was a notable architect of the early and mid- 19th century.
Bonomi was frustrated at what he regarded as a low salary; Hay resented Bonomi's wish to enhance his own reputation by producing drawings and casts for himself.

Joseph Bonomi the Elder ( 19 January 1739 - 9 March 1808) was an Italian architect and draughtsman notable for his activity in England.
Born in Rome, he made his early reputation there, then moved to London in 1767.
He was the father of Ignatius Bonomi (1787-1870), also an architect, and of Joseph Bonomi the Younger (1796-1878), who became an eminent sculptor, artist and Egyptologist.

PEARSON, JOHN LOUGHBOROUGH (1817-1897), English architect, son of William Pearson, etcher, of Durham, was born in Brussels on the 5th of July 1817.
He was articled at the age of fourteen to Ignatius Bonomi, architect, of Durham, but soon removed to London, and worked under the elder Hardwicke.
He revived and practised largely the art of vaulting, and acquired in it a proficiency unrivalled in his generation.

Bonomi, the architect, suggests that the principal cause of the destructiveness of fires in large buildings, is the want of arched surfaces of incombustible materials.
This has been disastrously exemplified in the destruction of the choir of York Minster, where the roof of the aisles, which are solidly arched with stone, suffered no injury; while the choir-roof, although much more raised above the action of the fire, has been entirely destroyed by it.
