Many different patterns and types of paper make up joss paper but the most typical kind I have seen in Chinese shops is the one pictured here - a thin rice paper printed with red ink, then an orange ink, and finally a gold foil square.
I felt joss paper was an interesting choice since it has ties to dead ancestors.
