  Journey (album) - Definition, explanation
Journey's self-titled debut album, Journey, was released in 1975 on the Columbia Records label.
Journey was originally the mastermind of longtime Journey manager, Herbie Herbert.
The new members of Journey went on to record several songs, showcasing their considerable talent as musicians on jazz-flavored progressive rock epics like "Of a Lifetime", "Kahoutek", and "Topaz".

Journey was born, and their first live show was on New Year's Eve 1973.  Prince then left after two shows to join The Tubes and he was replaced by Aynsley Dunbar.
Journey skored their first Top 20 hit with the extremely katchy 'Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'', and they were now onto a winning formula.  And on 'Evolution' we welkome a new face to the band - drummer Steve Smith, replacing Anysley Dunbar, who moved onto Jefferson Starship.
Journey do have an obsession with California, you only have to read their sleeve notes for evidence of this:  'To the people of the Bay Area, wherever we go, home is in our hearts.  Thank you for believing in us'.

This album offered the group's first song ever to be nominated for a grammy award, "When You Love A Woman," and several rockers, "Message Of Love," "Can't Tame the Lion," and "Castles Burning," with the rest of the 14 track album being filled out with ballads and a catchy regae-ish toon.
Journey is very interactive on tour, and offers a lot of new material to the fans, some of which it may release if response is favorable.

While Journey of a Gemini doesn't quite maintain the steady level of consistency that his first three albums carried, it's nonetheless a satisfying addition to his catalog.
Since the album's not as ballad-heavy, Jones is less prone to oversinging, and several excellent midtempo tracks -- "Better Start Talking," "I'm Gonna Be," "Spend the Night," "Feelin' You," "Lust or Love" -- should function equally well in clubs and living rooms.
