Tom Salta's journey into the video game industry - 0139 - Andre Barriault   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
One evening I was playing a game, and the thought occurred to me. I was like "wait, I love this stuff" and this would be perfect for me. The thought of marrying the two things I love to do the most into one art form was incredible," he explained.
Salta added that he had always been a fan of video games and remembers coming home from the arcades at a young age and playing tunes from his favourite titles on the piano.
To promote his music, Salta decided he needed a demo reel of sorts, and the answer to this manifested itself as his first solo album under the moniker "Atlas Plug." His debut CD "2 Days Or Die" was made available as a way to capture the attention of the entertainment industry for licensing purposes.

Journey should accept its white-bread status, and be happy with what they've accomplished: five Top 10 albums, 17 Top 40 singles, more than 50 million albums sold, a Journey video game, "the most popular rock act of 1983 (according to Gallup)," and an airing of "Any Way You Want It" in the timeless film "Caddyshack."
While Journey's lineup is almost identical to when I first saw them on their 1981 Escape tour, there's one big change: Lead singer Steve Perry is long gone (track down VH1's legendary "Behind the Music" episode for all of the gut-busting details).

Games like Metalheart that want to be Fallout but fail to realize what it was that made the game great are worse to me than games like Sacred with much lower aspirations that succeed in their goals.
I was convinced of this by the wimpy way they kept releasing new versions of the same game, the naiveté of the themes contained in said games, their increasingly comfy relationship with Disney, and the consistent androgyny of their title characters.

Execution happens to be the area most disrupted by the publisher's money squeeze, or when they try to rush a game out to beef up revenues in one of their fiscal quarters, to ensure their stock doesn't take a slight tumble and rile investors a wee little bit.
Near the beginning of the game, you should show the player an example of how the hero is flawed, so that at the end of the game, he can see how the hero has been transformed.
With a weak premise, or no premise, a game leaves the player feeling the story is out of control, and that is the biggest lack I see in game stories--usually games don’t have a strong premise, a strong statement about life, or the way the world is, or the way the world should be.
