LaPorte was good and had an excellent chin, pretty decent skill, but Lopez was so tough and determined, with a good punch, and excellent offensive output that was nonstop through 15 rounds.
Laporte never fought any body that could punch like Danny, yes all the other guys you mention were better boxer then Danny, but they were not great punchers.
Laporte was certainly an all-time great in that respect and i think was up to the task, although he would obviously have to take more punishment than Sal did.
