		En 1980 Juan Luis Guerra marchó a Boston para estudiar composición en el afamado Berkeley College Of Music, aunque debía volver periódicamente a su país para conseguir el dinero -trabajando en un canal de televisión- con el que pagarse su estancia en los Estados Unidos.
