 A Home for Judith
Judith continued to press for her property, vowing that she would sue Becht for it and continue to claim this property “while she had breath in her body.” It took her more than eight years from the date she was evicted from the property before she was able to bring her suit.
Judith’s petition asked for the court to render a judgment in her favor that the property with all improvements be returned to her as compensation.
Judith’s petition argued that the sale of the property by J.S. Sullivan to Becht was null and void, because Sullivan did not have the authority to dispose of the property as Peter’s estate had not been probated nor a court settlement of the estate made.
