I used to have a costume-designer girlfriend that would use her professional grade surger to repair my dogi (Double weave judogi), which lasted years, and I have found that my own sad home repairs since splitting with her had been lasting 2 weeks tops.
I'm curious to know just how long your judogi last and the major use of the dogi before replacement or major repairs are needed.
I ask because of the differences in the manner the uwagi is used compared to the sixties and seventies.

It is anticipated that requiring the use of blue and white judogi’s at the USJF Junior Nationals would be the harbinger to its use at other Junior National events as well as other Junior events on a local or national level.
While I believe that it is inevitable that blue and white judogi’s will be required at all levels of competition in the future, I feel that a transition period might be appropriate and that the blue and white belts would be a perfect short term solution to a long term problem.

I'm only going to be going to gi class twice a week and don't plan on doing any BJJ competitions as my focus is on no-gi and mma.
So, would a judogi be acceptable becaues I've been able to find some of those for a lot cheaper(a mizuno in my size is 52 dollars).
