Judy Canova has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contribution to the motion picture industry at 6821 Hollywood Blvd. and a second star for her work in radio at 6777 Hollywood Blvd.

Judy started her career in a traveling family group, usually yodeling, singing and playing guitar, with her Sister Annie and her brother Zeke.
On a very fortunate night while the Canovas were performing in a nightclub act in New York City in 1933, Rudy Vallee, the famous saxophonist and host of his then popular show Fleischmann Hour, happened to be in the audience while the Canovas performed.

Canova eventually landed her own starring program over CBS Radio debuting July 6, 1943 (originally titled Rancho Canova); her character—a small town bumpkin who hailed from the mythical hamlet of “Cactus Junction”—had relocated to Hollywood, living with her Aunt Aggie (played by Verna Felton and Ruth Perrott) and maid Geranium (Ruby Dandridge).
Judy Canova’s debut on radio proved so popular that she started a pigtails-and-calico fad on college campuses that same year.
Canova later moved her radio program to NBC in January 1945, and was an eight-year-old fixture on the network until May 28, 1953.

George Paul Canova moved to the Sanderson area in the mid 1800s as a teen-ager with his businessman father, Bartola, who purchased huge tracts of land in the area, and opened a large mercantile store.
One of George and Diana’s granddaughters, Judy Canova, became a popular 1940s hillbilly movie star and later Judy’s daughter Diana, named for her great grandmother, became a recording star.

The title refers to the trolley driven by Canova and her nearly deaf grandpa; the boiler that runs it also serves as a still to provide grandpa's hooch.
Eventually, the boiler blows, and they replace it with the atomic reactor from the rocket, which not only makes the trolley go a lot faster and turns it into a potentially dangerous weapon, it also makes better hooch.
