Judy Garland is one of the few stars to have been recognized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with two stars; one for her contributions to American motion pictures and one for her contributions as a recording artist.
Garland's legacy is alive in her two performing daughters and in her two grandchildren: Lorna Luft's son Jesse, born in 1984 and daughter Vanessa, born in 1990.
Judy is the subject of O'Connor's fourth studio album, A Tribute to Garland and she is to reprise the role at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival.

Judy Garland (June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969) was an American film actress considered by many to be one of the greatest singing stars of Hollywood's Golden Era of musical film.
The general consensus is that Judy was robbed of her Oscar for various reasons and should have won the Best Actress Oscar of 1954 instead of Grace Kelly.
Photographs taken near the end of Judy's life show a nearly skeletal shell of her former self, and it is possible that anorexia nervosa, a disease of conscious self-starvation, would play a part in Judy's demise (although no evidence has proven this).

Judy was said to be the only person ever contracted at MGM without a screen test, though the same claim has been made with reference to several other stars.
When she was working on The Judy Garland Show at CBS during the 1963/1964 season, the sign on her dressing room door read, "The Legend." She was one of the most loved and most popular personalities of all time.
Judy's memorial service was at Campbell's Funeral Chapel in New York on June 27, 1969, and she was laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York (see photo above).

EVERY SUNDAY (1936) a short film with Deanna Durbin was Garland's first role at M-G-M. Her first major impact on audiences came with her third film, BROADWAY MELODY OF 1938 (1937) in which she sang "Dear Mr Gable".
Despite the personal traumas and the professional ups and downs, Judy achieved another huge success with a concert at New York's Carnegie Hall on 23 April 1961, the subsequent album of the concert winning five Grammy Awards (and sold 2 million copies).
