Orange juice (sometimes abbreviated OJ) is a fruit juice obtained by squeezing or pressing the interior of an orange.

 Juice (1992)
To be certain, much of the film presented existence in Harlem along those lines, but as the movie progressed, it became more traditional, with much of the final act presented as something of a horror film.
Juice isn’t a bad film, but it’s a muddled and mediocre piece that tries to span two genres and fails.
Films that feature African-American actors often suffer from the latter problem, but its presence here seems odd; the issue usually occurs because of contrasting light levels used for white and fl actors, but since almost the entire cast of Juice is fl, the problem makes no sense here.

Typically, fresh grapefruit juice found in the refrigerated sections of grocery stores is packaged either in polymer containers or paperboard containers lined with polymers.
This layer of film contains an enzyme called naringinase (which contains alpha-rhamnosidase and beta-glucosidase); when the juice comes in contact with the food-safe film, its bitter taste is reduced due to the activity of the enzymes.
Indeed, a panel of nonprofessional tasters reported that the grapefruit juice with a reduced level of naringin tasted sweeter, even though the sugar in the juice was not increased by the neutralization of the naringin.

Juice may have had an idea to present but the film is technically poor, the sound is hollow and the script is shallow.
This film will not redirect their energy, it simply will take their money and reinforce the wrong message to the general population.

deseretnews.com - Movie review: Juice | Deseret Morning News Web edition
The new film "Juice," which is street slang for "respect," is very slow to start.
And before long it becomes apparent that the plot is really little more than a variation on the oldest film noir crime cliche in the book — a robbery is planned by a gang of thieves, it goes awry and someone is killed, and instead of pulling together, the gang finds itself coming apart.
Though the film's first third or so is frustrating, first-time director and co-writer Ernest R. Dickerson, who is a respected cinematographer, manages to kick in the necessary emotional pull and visceral thrills in time to save the film.

I must admit the first half of the film is quite messy in terms of storytelling structure.
What really saves the film, other than the already mentioned cast, is the director's style and the fact the comedy really works.
While during the first half I felt the film was trying a little too much to be cool (something Make it Big was guilty of as well), the second part surprised me in terms of pacing, action and soundtrack.

New versions of the old Hollywood moguls, the Weinstein brothers (who own and are Miramax) are apparently just as demanding, ferocious and egotistical but - like their predecessors - they understand movies, can read a script and know what works.
They are also terrific at maximising the potential of films which could so easily play only to a niche audience: they are, in other words, responsible for the global success of "Shakespeare in Love" and "Pulp Fiction".
Written by Amy Jenkins (rightly feted for writing TV's "This Life"), "Elephant Juice" smacks of a writer who has run out of ideas, has no passion for the project in hand, or has simply been distracted by the squirrels darting up the trees outside her study window.
