A look at the money involved shows that Carson outraised Dickerson by a significant amount, hundreds of thousands of dollars vs. tens of thousands at last reported count, though it's hard to say exactly by how much since Dickerson's campaign has had trouble keeping up with FEC filing requirements.
Carson reportedly hasn't felt well for the last few years, having had double bypass surgery and suffered extended hospitalizations and medical issues that caused her to miss votes.
