Julia Sawalha (born 9 September 1968 in London) is an English actress of Jordanian and Huguenot ancestry.
Julia was born into an acting family: her father Nadim is also an actor who appeared in the James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me while her sister Nadia starred in the soap EastEnders and is now a chat show host.
Julia Sawalha first gained public attention for her starring role in the ITV teenage comedy/drama Press Gang, which ran from 1989 to 1993.

Scripts, a documentary and commentary from the writer and Julia Sawalha (Lynda Day) which is great fun.
The commentaries, on four key episodes, are hugely entertaining as Steven Moffat (writer) recalls factoids, jokes and anecdotes whilst Julia Sawalha (Lynda) seems to remember mostly just the kissing scenes.
Whilst I would have bought the DVD even if it had contained no special features whatsoever (as was the case with the first series), I must say that the audio commentaries on four of the episodes by Steven Moffat and Julia Sawalha are some of the best I've ever come across.

I was listening to the video profile of Julia Sawalha from the J.C. Julia says that alot of times she interprets the scene completely different than David Renwick.
It isn't her fault that a script is written a certain way or that David Renwick wants a scene acted a certain way.

I remember reading somewhere that in animation, the key to "humanizing" animals — above and beyond merely anthropomorphizing them — is to give them human eyes, big, deep, expressive human eyes that hint at an equally human soul.
Ginger (Julia Sawalha), a plucky (sorry) young hen, constantly plots to liberate herself and her fellow hens from the prison camp-like confines of Tweedy's Chicken Farm.
She longs for a life free from forced egg production, but every escape plot falls to bits, often due to the other hens, who seem to humor her plans without ever truly understanding the implications of freedom.
