Admiral of the Fleet Sir Julian Oswald, GCB RN (born 1933) is a British naval officer who served as Chief of the Naval Staff and First Sea Lord from 1989 to 1993.
Next followed a number of staff and sea tours when he was promoted to Commander and then Captain.
Following his tour as Commanding Officer, Britannia Royal Naval College, Julian Oswald was promoted to Rear Admiral and appointed an Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff in 1982.
