Fine Gael is asking the Minster for Transport to temporarily allow trucks to use the M1 motorway for free, in a bid to ease congestion in villages in East Meath.
Local T.D Shane McEntee says he’s inundated with representations from residents in Slane, Duleek, Donore and Julianstown concerning the high volume of trucks passing through the villages.
The number of trucks passing through Slane has increased because of the refusal of hauliers to pay the toll on the M1 and construction of a bypass of the village is still at least two years away.

about 30 miles north of Dublin and it’s a further 30 miles from Julianstown to the Northern Irish border.
The house is in a shallow river valley and I guess this is either a lash up for local reception or to pick up a UK TV signal from north of the border.

It turns out, such a site exists, and it is in fact related to my home village of Julianstown, Co. Meath.
Admittadely, the site does not have a great layout, nor any stunning images, but, it’s good to see the effort being made, and the oul sod online.

What will the model for finance maintenance and operation of this development going forward.
