Julius Borros won the Championship for the second time by defeating Arnold Palmer and Jacky Cupit in an 18-hole playoff at The Country Club, Brookline, Mass.
Boros was the first of the three to finish the fourth round.
Boros' share was $17,500, including a $1,500 bonus that went to each of the three in the playoff.

In 1975, the 55-years-old Boros came within a whisker of becoming the oldest winner ever of a PGA TOUR event, losing a sudden death playoff to Gene Littler at Westchester.
The son of Hungarian immigrants, Boros was born March 3, 1920, in Fairfield, Conn. A big man at 6 feet and considerably more than 200 pounds, he had a nonchalant bearing that earned him the nickname 'Moose." He learned to take things even easier learning during his military stint that he had a bad heart.
Boros won the 1977 PGA Seniors Championship, and played a key role in the launch of the Champions Tour by making the final birdie putt on the sixth extra hole of sudden death that gave partner Roberto DeVicenzo and him victory over Tommy Bolt and Art Wall in the 1979 Legends of Golf.
