LaRosa noted later that the number for the first issue was not an even number like 1200 because they just used his birthday as the record number (he was born 1/2/30).

When LaRosa hired a manager as his career grew, Godfrey took offense and, after LaRosa performed one night, announced, “That was Julie’s swan song.” That didn’t stop the Brooklyn, N.Y.-born singer from succeeding on his own with numerous hits.
Godfrey hired him straight out of the Navy, so LaRosa says that after the show, “I went out and learned my job” by performing onstage.
Now 73, LaRosa still performs, sticking to his hits and the pop standards that built his career.

Apparently, the TV show was already off the air by that time, but it continued on radio, and THAT's where LaRosa got the ax.
(According to several sources, LaRosa had no idea what "swan song" meant, and therefore did not realize at first that he was being fired.)
