We began Jump Cut in 1974 and hope to bring all thirty years of film criticism to you online in about a year.
In retrospect, it is clear that Jump Cut has taken the lead in many of the most important areas of film and television criticism, especially in terms of the journal's social orientation.

Thomas Jane plays Neal Cassady in this film based on several of Cassady's letters to friends.
The setting is 1950's Denver, and scenes jump between Cassady's three great loves- Women, cars and pool halls.
The whole thing is shot with a keen eye- the light in apartments, hospitals, pool halls and scenes in palm-treed Los Angeles is gorgeous.
