This month was named after the sitcom goddess June Cleaver, wife of Ward Cleaver, king of the sitcom pantheon.
June was originally the fourth month of the pre-reformed Julian Calendar, which was established by Julius Caesar in 82 BCE.
Today, the month of June is celebrated for its long sunlight hours in the northern hemisphere, celebrations for providers of paternal genetic material, heterosexual couplings and D-Day.

 Ward and June Cleaver
After all, the Cleaver family, in all its straight-laced purity, could not accurately describe the typical American family, even in the times in which the TV show was produced.
Understand that June was oppressed by the patriarchal views of the times, and these views were then passed down to Wally and the Beav so they could further oppress the women of their generation.
Cleaver had been allowed choice as opposed to the societal coercion she endured, she would have chosen a much more satisfying career.

Desperate for June Cleaver By Dee Oliver
Strange to note in all of this that while we are consumed by this new brand of imperfect realism, many women continue to worship cosmetic approaches to looking like the latest acceptable “perfect” body type.
June Cleaver of the 1950’s sitcom has had America obsessed with clean kitchens and perhaps been accused of more harm to the state of women’s lives than any other fictional character.
In her book, I Killed June Cleaver: Modern Moms Shatter the Myth of Perfect Parenting, Deborah Werksman’s premise is that women need to stop beating themselves up because they aren’t “perfect” like June Cleaver.

Leave it to Beaver : tvland.com
Premiering in the fall of 1957 and focusing on the adventures of seven-year-old Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver and his 12-year-old brother, Wally, Leave It to Beaver was remarkably fresh for its time.
While its tone reflected the innocence of the era, the series had a realistic edge thanks to the show's creators, Joe Connely and Bob Mosher, who based most of the young characters on their own kids and other children they knew.
At the show's core is the theme of growing up, and while most of us don't have model parents like Ward and June Cleaver or Gus the Fireman to dispense advice, we can identify with many of the Cleaver kids' predicaments.
