In 1989 the Junior Certificate programme was introduced to provide a coherent single unified programme for all 12 to 15 year olds.
In addition, the Junior Certificate is a single national programme for all young people providing equality of access to certification.
The end of junior cycle was to be marked by a single examination, which, with a wide variety of modes and techniques of assessment and flexibility of levels within each subject, was intended meet the needs of all students.

The structure of the exam is similar to the Leaving Cert but unfortunately for Junior Cert students there is no choice you must attempt all questions.
This is the first year that calculators will be allowed in the Junior Cert.If the examiners take the same route as they did when calculators were introduced for the Leaving Cert you can expect a lot of the question to be based on a right angled triangle.
They also seem to require that the theorems be proved using only material (and no other material) that is on the new Junior Cert Syllabus.This is strange and most suspect from a pure maths point of view.

The figures mean Irish is only the sixth most popular subject at Junior Cert level, compared with the long-established pattern when it was second only to English.

On this thread, the discussion broadened momentarily as to whether all subjects should be optional after the Junior Cert (ie - allowing students to choose to do Maths, Irish and English or not).
By the Leaving Cert every one can do basic maths and if they can't then we should change the junior cert and primary school course to make sure they can because that isn’t acceptable.
Career guidance in my secondary school was woefully inept and didn’t start until the September after the junior cert, whereby you have selected your subjects and possibly limited your available colleges and courses.

 zmcreatecert usage of keytool - Zimbra - Forums
When I added the postfix cert, I realized keytool wouldn't give me the key, which I needed, so I used openssl, but didn't bother to change the tomcat cert creation (since it was working).
I'm working on integrating it now (what I really want to do is allow an admin to, by default, get a self-signed cert for their hostname - but if they want, they can supply additional names on the command line).
Good to hear about the existing certs though; I'll be glad to overwrite this hack when 3.0.2 (or whatever version this gets released in) shows up.

Junior Certificate students are being urged to celebrate their results today 'sensibly and responsibly'.
Hey, I have to say that I hate seeing all the young ones around town after they get their junior cert results with skirts up around their asses.
I am only 26 and I have heard guys say that they are going out with the intention of getting one of these girls, which is pretty sick as they are only 15 or 16.

 The Daltaí Boards: A in the junior!!!
I was reading a previous post and it said that if you dont attend a gaelscoil you are less likely to get an A in the junior cert.
I myself got an A in the junior and leaving cert and i never went to a gaelscoil.
If you spend eight of your formitive years completely immersed in Irish, isn't it obvious that you're likely to be a lot better at Irish than someone who just did it a few hours a week as a single subject, and hence be much more likely to get an A in the Junior Cert.

NINE PEOPLE were arrested in Salthill following disturbances on Tuesday night as hundreds of students who had received their Junior Cert results converged on the seaside resort.
And Superintendent Jim Sugrue of Salthill Garda Station confirmed that action will be taken against a city centre licensee for selling alcohol to one girl, a minor, who was brought to the garda station in an intoxicated state.
He said that every single licensee in Salthill had fully co-operated and denied rumours that night-clubs in the resort were closed down by the garda’ for the night.
