The Junkers Ju 52 was a transport aircraft used for delivering men and supplies, although it also carried out bombing raids.
Some of the operations the Junkers Ju 52 took part were also in the Spanish Civil War, where it took part in the Condor Legion's destructive raids on Durango and Guernica in 1937.

One of the most distinctive features of the new Junkers design was to install a pressurised cabin, cut down the aft fuselage decking and retain the high visibility teardrop canopy for all round vision.
Hertel's reworking led to the Junkers works redesignating the new aircraft the Junkers Ju.248 and the V1 prototype was rolled out for testing in August 1944.

It can be built as the Ju 248 or the Me 263 which differed in that the Messerschmitt had well covers.
The instructions incorrectly state that both planes Ju 248 and Me 263 had front wheel covers.
One decal is missing though, an oval stencil on nose left under the canopy.

It was withdrawn from the front line service after heavy losses on the 18th of August 1940.

At an early stage the work was handed over to Junkers, and the result, finally designated Me 263, was an interceptor which went some way towards eliminating the Me 163's landing and endurance problems.
There was provision for more fuel and a retractable tricycle undercarriage, though the wings and fin were similar to those of the Me 163B.

The Mikoyan-Gurevich OKB responded with the Zh *, which received the military designation I-270.
The design was influenced by the capture of a Junkers Ju 248 (Messerschmitt Me 263), but unlike the Me 163 and Ju 248, the I-270 was a fairly conventional design.
It did have the distinction of being the first Soviet aircraft to be equipped with an ejection seat, and also utilized a near-laminar flow wing and a pressurized cockpit.

It was powered by four turbojets, one under each wing and one on either side of the nose; planned versions included several different arrangements of two, four, or six engines.
Plans existed for a greatly improved version, the Me 263 (also known as the Junkers Ju 248; Junkers did much of the development work), with a new engine (16.67 kN Walter HWK 109-509C-4, with separate boost and cruise chambers, giving a longer (30+ min?) endurance), more fuel, and a real landing gear.

The unmanned component is referred to by different sources as either the Arado E-377a or the Junkers Ju 268.
The A9/A10 was a planned two-stage missile; the first stage would have been basically a scaled-up V-2, while the second stage would have been a winged skip-glide re-entry vehicle that could have carried a massive warhead (I don't know exactly how massive) to the United States.

But the later Junkers Ju.248/Messerschmit Me.263 did have the tools to do a "touch-and-go" conventional landing gear and throttleable engine
I am not positive but seems like I remember a discovery channel program that said that the Germans rocket plane took off on a heavy sled with wheels that fell away after take off.

The classic example is the Tupelov Tu-4 bomber, reverse engineered from the B-29, and an aircraft that Stalin wanted to get into service so quickly that he forbade Tupelov engineers from making any improvements to the design!
Other Soviet designs based on foreign aircraft included the first Sukhoi Su-9 (not the '50s production aircraft,) which was based on the Messerschmitt Me 262 (and incurred Stalin's wrath as a result,) and the MiG I-270, which was inspired by the Junkers Ju 248/ Messerschmitt Me 263.
Two teams of German aircraft designers were also imported by the USSR, where they continued to develop German projects such as the Junkers Ju 287 bomber and DFS 346 research aircraft, with little success.
