Junkers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was one of the most effective of the Luftwaffe's sublime aerial weapons and was used often for bombing attacks.
Some of the operations the Junkers Ju 52 took part were also in the Spanish Civil War, where it took part in the Condor Legion's destructive raids on Durango and Guernica in 1937.
Perhaps unsurprisingly the 211 saw widespread use in their own bombers, but was little used otherwise, mostly due to the better power output of the competing Daimler-Benz DB 601.

Junkers Jumo 211 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While the Daimler-Benz engine was mostly used in fighters and destroyers, the Jumo engine was primarily used in bombers such as Junker's own Ju 88 and Ju 87.
The Jumo 211 was developed by Dr. Neugebauer as scaled-up successor to the earlier Jumo 210.
Both Jumo and Daimler-Benz responded, and in order to reach service before the new Daimler-Benz DB 600, the Jumo team decided to make their new design as similar as possible to their 210H model, currently in testing.

Junkers was not happy with this state of affairs, and started their own efforts to produce a pressurized cooling system as early as 1938.
Junkers decided to go after the 603's market, and made the 213's mounting points and fluid connections in the same locations as the 603, allowing it to be "dropped in" as a replacement.

He 112 V1 was completed on September 1st, 1935, but pending the unavailable Junkers Jumo 210 engine it instead mounted a 695hp Rolls-Royce Kestrel Mk.II.S. Initial test flights at the factory revealed that the drag was much higher than expected, and that the plane was not going to be as fast as originally predicted.
Meanwhile the data from the V1 factory flights was studied to discover where the unexpected drag was coming from, and the Günter brothers identified the large and thick wing as the main culprit.
Shipments of the Jumo 211 or DB601 were not even able to fulfill German needs, so export of the engine for locally built airframes was likewise out of the question.

A Ju-87A-1 was fitted with the Jumo 211 engine for evaluation in early 1938, with this machine redesignated "Ju-87 V6", leading to a more extensive modification designated the "Ju-87 V7", which was the prototype for the B-series.
Manufacturing and engineering for the type was passed on from the Junkers plant in Dessau to the Weser firm, with its plant at the Berlin Tempelhof airport; Weser built 557 Ju-87B-1s.

Avia S-199 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Avia had started building Messerschmitt Me 109Gs straight after the war as the Avia S-99, but soon ran out of the 109's Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine; a warehouse fire destroyed the remaining stock.
The S-199 continued to use the Me 109G airframe but with none of the original engines available, the engine (Junkers Jumo 211) and propeller from the Heinkel He 111 bomber were used instead.
The result of this compromise was an aircraft with extremely poor handling qualities.
