Bruce Cockburn, and the two producers of his last album, 'Breakfast In New Orleans, Dinner In Timbuktu' - John Whynot and Colin Linden, were nominees at the upcoming 29th annual Juno Awards, broadcast live from The Skydome in Toronto, Ontario, at 8:00pm on 12 March 2000, on CBC television (Canada).
The 2000 Juno Awards were broadcast live on the Internet.
The Juno is the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Award, and is presented by CARAS, The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, an organisation created to "celebrate Canadian Music".

On Sunday, March 12, Toronto's Sky Dome Stadium was host to more than 22,000 attendees for the 2000 Juno Awards, which are held to honor the musical and technical accomplishments of Canadian artists.
Contributing to the Juno Awards technical success were House Mixer - Ian Dunbar, Assistant Mixer - Don Dixon, Sound System Engineer - Frank Desjardins, Head PA Technician - Marc Beauchamp, and PA Technician - Alex Miasnikof.
Comprising the awards system were a Left and Right main PA of 16 MSL-6s, four PSW-6s, 24 DS-2Ps, eight MSL-5Ps, four MSL-4s and six CQ-2s.

Colour Moving and Still earned Chantal two major awards at the 2000 Juno Awards Ceremony (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys): she was named Best Female Artist (acing out Alanis Morissette, Celine Dion and others) while Colour Moving and Still was named Best Pop/Adult Album (trumping albums by Alanis Morissette, Joni Mitchell and others).
On May 1, 2000, on the eve of the launch of her first U.S. tour in support of Colour Moving and Still, Chantal performed at a Handgun Control fundraising benefit and reception and dinner in New York honoring Rosie O'Donnell for her commitment to gun control.
Her tour coincides with the mid-February release of Tom Lord-Alge's remix of "Before You," a track on Chantal's current "Colour Moving and Still" album.
