  Jupiter Ace
The Jupiter Ace was a British home computer of the 1980s, marketed by a company named Jupiter Cantab.
The company was formed by Richard Altwasser and Stephen Vickers, who had been on the design team for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
The major difference from the ZX81, however, was that its designers intended it to be a machine for programmers: the machine came with Forth as its default programming language.

Jupiter Ace review. Your Computer November 1982
THE JUPITER ACE is a radical departure from the mainstream of microcomputing, and could prove to be the start of a very important new trend.
Speed implies heat, but there is not much danger of the Jupiter overheating, or at least a sight less danger than some machines, because inside that flimsy plastic case is plenty of breathing room and what is more, the case is better ventilated than that of the ZX range.of computers.
Probably the biggest advantage of the Ace's picture quality over the ZX-81's is that the Ace has a rock-steady fl screen on which any printing appears in white: the ZX-8l does the reverse which is not a natural way for a computer to behave.

Jupiter Ace Resource Site - Books that feature the Jupiter Ace
The Jupiter Ace was not really around long enough to have many books written about it, unlike the ZX Spectrum.
The Jupiter Ace is noted on page 4, where it talks about Forth words than are unique to the Ace which do not appear in other Forths on other micros such as the BEEP sound word.
On the Ace (or at the least on the model used during the writing of this book), unconnected lines usually read as 0, except for line D4 which reads as 1.

Almost half of the surface of the Jupiter Ace is covered by its keyboard.
The Ace allows you to inspect and modify old words that have gotten buried within the dictionary without disturbing the words on top.
In conclusion, the Jupiter Ace is a nicely designed but limited computer that is appropriate for people who want to learn to program in Forth.

Of course, with machines with ‘astronomical’ amounts of memory (like the Commodore 64), not many were impressed by Jupiter Ace and its economical Forth interpreter.

 Jupiter Ace FAQ
A Jupiter Ace was a home micro produced at the peak of the home computer boom in the early eighties.
Jupiter Cantab designed a colour add-on, which was never supplied, in an attempt to rectify the one big deficiency of the machine.
The Jupiter Ace seems to have no 'auto run' facility, so it is necessary to do a vlist command to check what words will run the program.
