Topic: Jurisconsult

DEMOCRACY AND NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY IN THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC
In the first instance, the just jurisconsult selects the members of the Assembly of Experts who, after this selection, are elected by the people.
However, the candidates must all be theologians subscribing to the principle of rule by a supreme jurisconsult, be of the Twelver branch of Shi'ism and finally be cleared by the Council of Guardians.
Hovering high above the people's choice is a complicated network of jurisconsult, Assembly of Experts, Council of the Guardians etc. all "electing" one another through an intricate process, and nearly all consisting of theologians adhering to the system of rule by a supreme jurisconsult.

Such practical knowledge of positive right, and law, may be regarded as belonging to jurisprudence (jurisprudentia) in the original sense of the term.

USCFL - Everything you need to know about Hizballah and its Terror Network
The Ayatollah Khomeini's Islamic revolution of 1979 established an Islamic state based upon Shi`i traditions that he radically reinterpreted in order to legitimize a concept known in Persian as velayat-e-faqih and in Arabic as wali al-faqih-the rule of the supreme jurisconsult.
The concept that he delineated provided for an Islamic state to be ruled by a rahbar, a quasi-infallible leader who would rule absolutely over all Shi`is as a marja`i taqlid, supreme guide.
Hizballah designated Khomeini as its supreme Jurisconsult as a demonstration that the movement revered his ideologies as well as acknowledged his leadership as Divinely inspired.
