  Jusenkyo Theory
When something drowns at Jusenkyo it creates a spring of that species.
For example the Nyannichuan makes someone look like they would if they had been born a girl, but when Akane was 'drowned' to create the Akaneniichuan it made a spring that was specific about the form, the cursed person would look like Akane.
As more members of a species drown at Jusenkyo it gets more specific about the curse.

He is always very helpful to anyone that comes and visits, and tries to offer whatever help he can.
The Guide is also in charge of the guest registry that Pantyhose later uses to track down all the victims of the Jusenkyo curses.
