Topic: Just What I Needed

In the News (Mon 4 Jun 12)

  Dave Gingery's Philosophy
What I needed was there, as it almost always is in any good manual, and most of it was in the first few pages.
Of course I needed more information later, but that 650 pages could be reduced to simple terms: a wooden pattern of the desired casting is rammed in moist clay-bonded sand in a two part flask.
Just in case you think you have it tough, I'd like to point out that it took more work and time to write this column than it did to produce my first casting.

In texts, through thoughts, with pleasure: Digital enthusiasm

Lagerlund repeatedly refers to a forthcoming paper by Peter King that sounds extremely interesting, not only because it offers detailed factual information about various theories about a resemblance between mental images and cognised objects, but also because it analyses them with the help of sophisticated theoretical vocabulary.
In other words, this seemed to be just what I needed.

 Eels 2005
As for the Eels being more than just a tuneful band, —the ART TERRORISM thing—well, given our decretum that one’s philosophy must be actionalized, it’s no wonder apt behaviors found way into the lives of certain people around us and...
On the point that the early 70's scene in Cleveland was in some ways homogenous, I bristle only when the Electric Eels are lumped with the likes of the Mirrors, Rocket from the Tombs, Styrenes and— godhelpus—the Dead Boys.
He also had a soothing manner with irate landlords, which I suspect was a talent he cultivated due to the fact that he travelled with thousands of vinyl record albums and volumes of hand lettered text and photo clippings which would one day become his very fine tome “The Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film”.

 What Is A Llewellin Setter?
Having once established a strain to his fancy, no cross of any sort was allowed to invade it, and the various families in his kennel preserved and transmuted to their progeny their likeness, habits, and methods of working.
Llewellin certainly realized that this was just what he was looking for to accomplish his goals.
