Justa Grata Honoria was the sister of the western Roman emperor Valentinian III.
She is most famous for writing a perhaps foolish letter to Attila the Hun in spring 450 asking him to save her from an unwanted marriage to a senator.
Taking the letter - which came with her ring as proof it was sent by her - as a betrothal and thus an invitation to invade the Western Empire, Using the letter as has excuse and "asking for half of the western Empire as dowry", Attilla ravaged Gaul and Italy from 451 to 453.

Justa Grata Honoria, another strong-willed fifth-century woman, was born in 416 or 417, the daughter of the future emperor Constantius III (421) and Galla Placidia.
Attila, meanwhile, chose to interpret Honoria's missive as a marriage proposal, and demanded half of the western Roman Empire as her dowry.
Honoria's ultimate fate is unknown; she may have been dead by 455.

Solidus minted in Thessalonica to celebrate the marriage of Valentinian III to Licinia Eudoxia, daughter of the Eastern Emperor Theodosius II.
Only the influence of their mother Galla Placidia convinced Valentinian to exile, rather than kill, Honoria, after the emperor discovered his sister's plan.
On the reverse, a cross (typical of all the coinage referring to Galla Placidia) stands for her Christian faith.

They had a son who became Valentinian III, and a rather more strong-willed daughter, Justa Grata Honoria.
Placidia's last notable public act was to convince her brother Valentinian III to exile not kill her for this.
She died shortly afterwards at Rome in November 450, and did not live to see Attilla ravage Italy in 451-453 in a much more brutal campaign than the Goths had waged, using Justa's letter as their sole "legitimate" excuse.

Constantius III - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Constantius reportedly intended to launch a campaign against the Eastern Empire to force recognition of his rights, but before anything could come of these plans, he died suddenly on September 2 after less than seven months as emperor.
Constantius and Galla Placida had two children, the future emperor Valentinian III and Justa Grata Honoria.
Constantius' success in rising from head of the dwindling Roman army to Imperial rank obviously influenced the actions of later holders of the patrician office, a list that includes Aëtius and Ricimer; however, only Petronius Maximus would ultimately make the same leap, and his reign would prove to be even shorter than Constantius'.

Northvegr - The Invasion of Europe by the Barbarians
But his sister Justa Grata Honoria had inherited from her mother some of the qualities we should expect to find in a granddaughter of Theodosius and a great-granddaughter of the first Valentinian.
She was herself driven from the palace, and betrothed compulsorily to a certain Flavius Bassus Herculanus, a rich senator of excellent character, whose sobriety assured the Emperor that a dangerous wife would be unable to draw him into revolutionary schemes.
The proposal of the Augusta Honoria was welcome to Attila, and was to determine his policy for the next three years.
