By the end of 1965, Hayward had four songs that he felt ready to record on his own, which led him to former skiffle king-turned-producer Lonnie Donegan.
Hayward's career as a solo artist began in 1977 with the release of Songwriter, which displayed a somewhat leaner and more lively, acoustically textured sound than his work with the Moody Blues.
An Audience with JustinHayward will be the first gig he has performed in his home town in many years and the event promises to be one not to be missed.
Justin's voice is breathtaking though (as is that of Russell Watson as Parson Nathaniel).
JustinHayward is a fantastic musician and, having seen him play live with the Moody Blues, I would give up my right-arm to attend an event, which has long been dreamt for, that is certain to be a magical musical morning.
Hayward: You know, sometimes you see them waving their cor anglais [English horn] over their head you know after they get into it a little bit.
Hayward: No. A few years ago when we started this idea, we thought that would be the way to do it.
Hayward: When we first came to America, I think we first came there in 1968, we were very lucky to be one of the few English bands that really made it.
It was clear from an early age that JustinHayward would carve out a career as a musician and singer, but few who heard him sing in the choir at St Saviour's Church, Swindon in the 1950s could have guessed that he would lead one of the world's most famous 'supergroups'.
Although Go Now and the 1970 hit, Question, which made number two, are their most successful singles, Nights in White Satin is probably their best-remembered song and was a top twenty hit three times, though strangely for such a well known song, it never went higher than number nine in the charts.
But JustinHayward still remembers his Swindon days with affection, and has returned in recent years to help fundraising for a number of causes.
This fanlisting was approved on 30-DEC-2003 by The Fanlistings Network (in the (Musicians: Individual Musicians: Males category) to be its only FL for JustinHayward.
Throughout the last two months many people have described JustinHayward at his shows and autograph sessions with such words as gracious, friendly, kind, happy, funny, and affectionate; the music itself as wonderful, excellent, and better than ever.
Hayward stopped on his way to catch a plane in Seattle, after a three-day Moodys gig at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas.
Hayward was amialbly chatty between songs, bending down so the crowd at the back could see him on the brewpubs high "Juliet balcony."

Moody Blues frontman JustinHayward's first soloalbum after the temporary breakup of the band in the mid 1970's is a great example of what a solo artist can do apart from the rest of his group.
Although this album is not as lush, powerful and orchestral as his collaboration with fellow Moody Bluesman John Lodge in 1975's "Blue Jays", this album is a "can't miss" for the Justin Hayward/Moody Blues fan.
Justin was given a gift (songwriting) and he has proven it is a skill as well.
Hayward I hope you don't feel too overwhelmed by all the questions, everyone is just excited about your taking this time.

Hayward that he had Catfish (the morning dj/courier for the day) run out to the mall's record store to obtain a copy of TVFTH and he signed it for Gina "Lots of Love, JustinHayward".
Songwriter is the first ex-Moody Blues soloalbum to approximate the vitality and appeal of the group albums that sold so well to longhaired kids with latent MOR tendencies in the late Sixties.
And well it should, since Hayward has exerted a lot of effort to recycle the hooks, riffs and vocal inflections of those albums.
Since Hayward's voice was always an integral component of the Moody Blues, Songwriter amounts to a follow-up to Every Good Boy Deserves Favour, six years later.
John Lodge has written a lot of great Moody Blues standards, some with JustinHayward; he is the other half of the Blue Jays; and with JustinHayward the most visible front man in the band.
