Transmission of juttejutsu is found in both modern taihojutsu and a limited number of ko-budo.
Perhaps due to the weight of responsibility in deciding to arrest an individual to be tried by the period’s penal system, juttejutsu and torinawa were most frequently taught only to licensees, rather than all students of a ko-budo which taught the arts.
Modern taihojutsu (逮捕術police arresting art) was influenced by the juttejutsu of the Ikkaku-Ryu school as introduced by T. Shimizu of the Shindo Muso Ryu.

Those interested in the complete range of the tradition, however, can also study a number of affiliated arts: Uchida-ryu tanjojutsu (short stick art), Shinto-ryu kenjutsu (swordsmanship), Isshin-ryu kusarigamajutsu (chain-and-sickle art), Ikkaku-ryu juttejutsu (truncheon art) and Ittatsu-ryu hojojutsu (tying art).
Students of the Yagyu Shinkage-ryu, a noted school of swordsmanship and strategy, can also study the Yagyu Seigo-ryu battojutsu (sword-drawing art) and the set of stick techniques known as "Jubei-no-jo." The Muhi Muteki-ryu, another school of jojutsu, includes the practice of Iga-ryuha Katsushin-ryu jujutsu in its curriculum.

Although there is no free-sparring of any kind in this style, the practitioners are pushed to train with a degree of aliveness, and admonished if they are just going through the kata movements in rote-fashion.
Shindo Muso Ryu also incorporates several auxiliary weapon styles (kenjutsu, kusarigamajutsu, juttejutsu, etc), but training in those styles only comes after several years weilding the jo and bokken.
Most modern-day practitioners start with the Seiteigata - the modern set of katas formulated under the aegis of the Kendo Federation, before moving on to the "old-school" katas.
