The storm hit during 2002 when KCAC officials become aware the agency in most of 2001 had been spending more than what was being received in federal and state funds to pay for social services provided by KCAC.
Former KCAC Director Mike Williams, a 17-year KCAC employee who took the director post in early January 2002, said he began to learn of the depth of the agency's financial problems in February.
KCAC is now looking into fund-raising, foundation donations and financial help from the state to pay off the loan.

 SC Men's Soccer Press Release
Both Benton and Kidd received KCAC "Player of the Week" honors during the 2001 season and Benton was also named NAIA national "Player of the Week".
Benton, a midfielder, led the KCAC in goals scored and offensive points at the completion of the 2001 regular season.
Forward Jeff Kidd led the KCAC in assists with 14 assists in 16 games and was second in the KCAC in offensive points.

 Chronology of the KCAC project
A planning team of five teachers collaborated with co-directors Mimi Dyer and Sarah Robbins to write a proposal for the KCAC project.
Teachers continued to work in their dissemination teams but also gathered periodically as a whole group to share progress and contribute to each team’s work.
Throughout the summer, teachers met in small groups to refine portions of the website, to revise and edit their contributions for a print collection of KCAC lesson plans, and to draft narrative essays about teaching growing out of the KCAC model.

In regular-season, Tabor College Bluejays won the KCAC men’s championship, and the Tabor College women Bluejays won the KCAC women’s championship.
Both the highest seeded team of each division, based on regular-season standings of the KCAC Conference men's and women's divisions, and the two post-season tournament winners will advance to the national championship tournaments of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
For each KCAC Tournament (men’s and women’s) all ten teams will participate in the KCAC Tournament, which includes a “Play-in” for the bottom four teams.

 MC Athletics | Basketball Honors
Twice named KCAC men’s “Player of the Week” during the 2003-2004 season, he was the Bulldogs’ leading rebounder 22 times, leading scorer 21 times, and he posted 13 double-doubles.
He previously was named to the All-KCAC first team in 2001 and 2003, was the KCAC’s “Freshman of the Year” in 2001, and following his junior season he was named a NAIA honorable mention All-American.
One of the KCAC’s most accurate shooters, he shot 77.9% from the free throw line for the year after ranking 7th in the KCAC during the regular season and 45.1% for total field goal attempts to rank ninth among KCAC players.

With Mount Hualalai (an 8100 ft dormant volcano last active in the early 1800's) on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, the KCAC is an outstanding aquatic center that has been the host for both international as well as national and local competitions.

Mohr, a 5'9" guard who made over 41 percent of her three-point attempts and averaged 13.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, was named to the first team for the second straight year.
Bethany College won the KCAC championship with a regular-season conference record of 18-0 and also won the KCAC tournament with a 70-59 win over No. 6-ranked Sterling College in the championship game played Wednesday.

KCAC was physically cradled at first in the front of Wallich's Music City - 40th Street and Thomas somewhere between Taco Bell and Tempe.
KCAC in its day, did receive some press in the mainstream media.
And I'll try to keep the content interesting, with podcasts of classic KCAC air checks and whatever intriguing relics of Phoenix's progressive rock radio past I can manage to dig up (if you've got anything cool to share, let me know!).

 Sterling College Athletics
Sterling finishes the year with a school record 33-14 overall record and a runner-up finish in both the KCAC regular season and tournament.
Sterling's success was not only evident in the teams' impressive record but also in the number of players who received all-conference honors.
Of the many triumphs and memories achieved by the Warriors this season probably the one that will be best remembered is Sterling's shocking upset over NCAA Division I opponent Kansas State University.

Coming off 6-21 and 8-19 seasons, which placed the Lady Bulldogs 10th and 9th in the KCAC, coach Nathalea Stephenson took a squad of three seniors, a pair of juniors, and 14 freshmen, and came away with a 18-13 season and a 6th place KCAC finish.
With a win over Saint Mary to conclude the first round of KCAC play, the Bulldogs put together a six-match winning streak which was stopped in the finals of St. Louis College Pharmacy by NCAA D-III Westminster College.
But, the intensity of a long collegiate season took its toll on the young Lady Bulldogs down the stretch as they dropped six of their final seven matches, including a first round tournament loss at Friends.

 BC :: Collegian: Threshers finish season in semi-finals of KCAC
After finishing the regular season just one game out of fourth place in the KCAC, the Lady Threshers welcomed the chance to play number four seeded Southwestern with open arms on Feb. 27 in quarterfinal play of the KCAC tournament.
The Threshers wanted to continue on through the tournament but hit a brick wall when playing top-seeded Bethany College on March 1 in Lindsborg for the semifinals of the KCAC tournament.
The Threshers defeated Southwestern to advance to the semifinals of the KCAC tournament.

Our men have now won 24 consecutive KCAC championships, and Southwestern runners have won the individual title in every one of those 24 years.
