	KEK:PRESS Release (Fastest supercomputer)
		High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) is promoting simulation studies of high energy accelerator science including elementary particle physics and nuclear physics.
		In order to further accelerate the research, KEK has installed a new supercomputer system and starts its operation on March 1st, 2006.
		By simulating QCD in computer, we expect that our understanding of mass generation mechanism and the reactions of proton, neutron, and mesons is greatly developed.

	TTC Meeting at KEK, September, 2006
		TESLA Technology Collaborarion (TTC) was established in 2005 to advance the SCRF technology R-and-D and related accelerator studies across the broad diversity of scientific applications, and to provide a bridge of communication and sharing of ideas, developments and testing across associated projects.
		Previous meetings have been held at Frascati in Autumn, 2005 and at DESY in Spring, 2005.

		KEK is the Japanese national high energy physics laboratory, located in Tsukuba Science City, about 40 km northeast of Tokyo.
		It is a Japan-Korea-US collaborative research project in which the KEK neutrino beam is directed through the earth to Super-Kamiokande, providing a controlled "laboratory" source of neutrinos, allowing us to check Super-K results obtained from atmospheric neutrinos.
		KEK neutrinos will have rather high energy compared to most cosmic ray neutrinos.

		Today KEK is perhaps best known for its particle physics research with the KEKB accelerator and Belle experiment, and its involvement in neutrino research in collaboration with the Kamiokande experiments by the Institute of Cosmic Ray Research of the University of Tokyo.

		The Japanese KEK laboratory has for the first time demonstrated an alternative method of accelerating protons to high energy - the fixed-field, alternating gradient (FFAG) synchrotron.
		In a normal variable frequency synchrotron, the radiofrequency of the applied electric fields (which accelerate the circulating beam) is increased to remain in step with the beam as it becomes increasingly distorted by relativity.

		The Belle team measured the decay of B-mesons – mesons that contain a bottom quark – produced in electron-positron collisions at the KEK B-factory in Japan.

		The KEK laboratory, in Japan, was originally established for the purpose of promoting experimental studies on elementary particles.
		Since its commissioning in 1976, the proton synchrotron played an important role in boosting experimental activities in Japan and thus laid the foundation of the next step of KEK's high energy physics program, a 30 GeV electron-positron colliding-beam accelerator called TRISTAN.
