	KIRO (AM) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		KIRO is a radio station based in Seattle, Washington, broadcasting on 710 in the AM radio spectrum.
		In 1937, KIRO was assigned the 710 frequency and increased its power to 1,000 watts.
		KIRO is one of the most listened-to stations in Seattle, according to Arbitron ratings, and has won numerous awards, including seven Edward R. Murrow Awards in 2004 alone.

		Kiro earned 10 letters (baseball-basketball-cross country) at East Catholic High, scored a career 987 points with the Eagles basketball team and was the school's all-time career hit leaders for 20 years with the East Catholic's baseball program, until a few years ago when Ryan Cusovitch broke this mark.
		Kiro, an excellent student, was all-conference selection with both the baseball and basketball teams, with a couple of nods from the state athletic selection committee.
		Kiro later played four years with the University of New Mexico as a fine shortstop and several seasons in the Greater Hartford Twi-light League, where he was a perennial MVP shortstop with the championship Society for Saving teams.
