KLIA is a good airport until you reach immigration.
The KLIA Ekspres is a shining light for this airport which for some strange reason is miles away from the city it's supposed to serve - 28 mins to the city.
KLIA seems to be a very modern, clean and efficient in my opinion, although I am not familiar with the departure hall.

It's a 57 km train ride from KLIA to KL Sentral using the KLIA Ekspres.
KLIA basically is in another city, The name Kuala Lumpur International Airport is a misnomer if it's refering to its place of residence.
It can be reached using the non-express version of the KLIA Ekspres, which is the KLIA Transit.

For the dinner the flight attendant kept apologizing that all they had left was the "spicy chicken" dish which apparently wasn't suitable for westerners; in reality I could barely notice the chili, so they must have had some really wimpy passengers in the past.
However, unlike IAD, the connection at KLIA is a train that moves smoothly, rapidly, and with very high frequency, so it's not annoying at all.
The automated ticket machines for the KLIA Ekspres train to the city would not accept my credit card, so we purchased tickets in cash at the booth.
