	The American Pit Bull Terrier Reconsidered
		Kloc's sire, Grunt, is a game-bred (and tested) pit bull with a penchant for climbing trees (I have seen him scramble onto a limb 20 feet high).
		The squirrels in my back yard are quite startled when Kloc follows them up into their arboreal kingdom, but they are safe after they climb about ten feet up into the tree.
		Though Kloc will never be a retriever like Grunt (he has no interest in "fetching") and though he dislikes swimming, he has a great hunting instinct and makes an excellent watchdog.

		KLOC (thousands of lines of code) is a traditional measure of how large a computer program is or how long or how many people it will take to write it.
		KLOC has been used as a rough measure of programmer productivity, as in "How many lines of code can you write a day?" However, this measure does not consider the efficiency of the code.
		Defects per KLOC is a common measure used as a target or for evaluating code quality.

		Use numbers from past projects to estimate hours or KLOC or use function points to estimate KLOC and then use this and the COCOMO (Constructive Cost Model) model to estimate person hours or months and duration of the project in months.
		Best to use a lower and upper estimate on these when unsure.
