		KMID is the ABC affiliate in Midland-Odessa, Texas, owned and operated by Nexstar Broadcasting Group headquartered in Irving, Texas.
		KMID ABC2 was acquired by Nexstar in 2000.
		KMID's studio is adjacent to Midland International Airport just off US Highway 80 about 10 miles west of downtown Midland or midway between Midland and Odessa.

		In his negotiations with Cox on a new, three-year retransmission consent agreement, KMID General Manager Mark McKay is asking Cox to pay the station for the right to retransmit its signal in Midland.
		KMID has had more “substantive” talks with Cable One, McKay said, but he wouldn’t discuss the specifics.
		The only Cable One executives in Odessa who could comment on the status of negotiations with KMID were out of the office Friday and unavailable for comment.

		Left out of the letter is the fact that KMID has a monopoly on ABC programming in this area and can't seem to make enough money with it and wants Cox to begin collecting some for them.

		Please note that I am developing KMid using the CVS tree of kdemultimedia.
		If you have downloaded the rpm distribution, just do 'rpm -i kmid-1.7-1.i386.rpm' as root to install it, then you should restart kde for the changes of mime types and the kpanel to take effect (or issue a 'kwmcom kpanel:restart' command).
		To install the tar.gz release of kmid, decompress it by doing 'tar xvfz kmid-1.7.tar.bz2' or something like that, it will create a new directory and then you should read the README file for compiling instructions.

		With my old sound card Kmid didn't work, kmidi was good, but I didn't reached to replace Kmid by Kmidi in Konqueror.
		And Kmid crashes Konqueror when I klick on it...
		I also hope that Kmid will play karaoke as well as karawin, with little balls showing the speech coming (see www.karawin.com)...

		kmid will play files but I get no sound.
		Sounds works for every other file format, mp3 ogg, wav, wma, etc. so that's not the issue.

		If I use Konsole to open kmid it goes through these motions, and upon hitting the run icon in Kmid the following message comes up in Konsole:
