		KMIR was the first television station to go on the air in the Palm Springs market in 1968.
		It was purchased by Journal Broadcast Group in 1999.
		Actor John Conte, the station's founder, passed away on 4 September 2006 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.
