Bogofilter and KMail Howto   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
The version of KMail shipped with KDE 3.2 includes the ability to create a special type of filter known as a "filter action".
KMail also has the ability to mark a message as spam or ham but unfortunately there is, as of the time of the writing of this document, no way to associate that ability with any particular action.
The KMail developers are apparently working on adding that capability at some point in the future since it is somewhat useless in the present context.

KMail - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
KMail is the email client of the KDE Desktop Environment.
Send this email to a program allows any program to be specified, and when that KMail filter is activated, the program will be run and supplied with the contents of the email as its standard input.
KMail has built-in support for OpenPGP email, and will automatically decrypt messages and check the signature once the user has typed their password, displaying such messages with a blue or green border to show that they were encrypted.

 KMail Progress Review
The last major stable release of KMail was in September 1999, since that time KMail has undergone intensive continuous development as part of the unstable HEAD branch of KDE CVS.
This main window is similar to the old KMail, differences include rearranged menus to better conform to the KDE style guidelines, and all new icons for the toolbar and folder list.
This developmental version of KMail is actually quite stable, and in fact at times exceeds the stability of the last stable release of KMail.

 Kmail - Grokdoc
KMail is a fully-featured email client that fits nicely into the K Desktop Environment, KDE (http://www.kde.org).
The built-in PGP/GnuPG plugins, however don't work very well as far as signing goes (it includes the signature in the actual text instead of as an attachment), but this shouldn't be an issue as far as newbies are concerned.
Another nice feature of kmail as is that it can easily read normal mbox type mail files there is no need to do an import unlike some other graphical mail clients.

KMail is a modern and full-featured mail client.
KMail separates mail accounts from identities, which include personal settings such as which folder to put sent mail in, crypto settings, the dictionary to use, signature, etc. Incoming and outgoing mail accounts are configured separately, and KMail can also automatically check which authentication methods the server supports.
More than two search rules can now be used, and the header options are the same as for filters, with the exception of "age in days" which is not there for some mysterious reason.

KMail defaults to using "MailDirs" to store mail but it also handles traditional mbox files and some other formats that I'm not familiar with.
I particularly like the way KMail lets you define additional "identities." With Mozilla, you had to create a whole new account to be able to send a message as "from" someone else.
For me, while the look of KMail is different, so many things are similar to Mozilla that it's no big deal; after all, a mail client is a mail client and I can revamp KMail's look via KDE's themes and GUI tools.
