| | KOB's Commercial Policy |
 | | In March 1996, KOB was authorised by the Czech government, as part of bankruptcy proceedings, to purchase from creditor the debts of health care facilities incurred by the Mining Employees' health insurance company and to be compensated for this later from the resources of the Czech National Property Fund at 80% of their nominal value. |
 | | KOB later subscribed to the new company's shares, and the contractually agreed sale of the bank's 48% interest can be expected in the first half of 1999. |
 | | KOB's trading was also affected by measures introduced by the Czech National Bank in monetary policy, involving the creation of reserves and provisions, the level of key interest rates, as well as introduction of a mandatory contribution to the Deposit Insurance Fund. |
