This work of art was called "Starsteps" and was dismantled when ownership of the building changed hands in 2000.
From 1949 to 1996, the television and radio stations KTTV and KTWV housed many of its studios here.
KTTV moved to a new building in nearby suburban West Los Angeles in 1996, and KTWV to new studios in Culver City in 1997, and then Miracle Mile neighborhood on L.A.'s Wilshire Boulevard in 2004, and the Metromedia corporation sold the land to the Los Angeles Unified School District in 2000.

From the late 1960s until 1987, the 94.7 frequency was home of KMET, a very popular album-oriented rock station which was owned by Metromedia.
Today, the station is still called "The Wave" and plays a mix of smooth jazz, soft RandB hits, AC songs, and some softer rock hits.

It would be great to take a poll of the many states and indicate the radio stations playing the song.

Here In calif. it has been just 3 stations.

Today in fact, KTWV made mention of the fact, that Chris Gaines is doing well, and quickly climbing the charts!!!
This beach side concert that KTWV offers is only during the days of the spring, summer.

Because I can recall back to a time (1988) when a certain young guitarist by the name of Ottmar Liebert released a very small batch (1000 copies) of his first CD, "Nouveau Flamenco".
One of those copies landed in the hands of then KTWV (The Wave) programmer, John Sebastian in Southern California.
Following this historical event, when this KTWV air personality reported for duty each Saturday and Sunday afternoon, she spent most of her time on the air answering the hundreds of phone calls from crazed listeners demanding to know who the artist was.
