TV station websites have the largest audience in five markets and websites operated by a combination of TV station and local newspaper lead in two markets.
In 2001, 30 daily newspapers and four TV stations had attracted to their websites more than 20 percent of the adults in their immediate market.
Of the 898 websites surveyed (newspapers, alternative news weeklies and TV) in the current report, 236 attracted 10 percent or more of the adults in their immediate market.

The super tower — supporting a total of four digital and four analog TV stations — remains controversial, raising health issues for residents of the mountain area north of Interstate 70 where it is set to be built.
In an unanimous vote, the Jefferson County, Colorado Board of Commissioners has approved a proposal by a Denver-area TV station consortium to build a 730-foot broadcast tower on Lookout Mountain.

An airplane burns after crashing on takeoff at Montrose Regional Airport, Sunday in Montrose, Colo. NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol survived the charter plane crash that killed at least two people Sunday, the network said in a statement through its Denver affiliate KUSA-TV.
One of Ebersol's sons, Charles Ebersol, survived but another son, Teddy, was missing, KUSA reported late Sunday.
NBC said the pilot and co-pilot were killed.

DENVER, April 18, 2004 - Continuing its transition to a fully high-definition infrastructure, KUSA-TV (9 News in Denver) will be the first broadcaster in the United States to implement Sony's new HDC-X300 compact high definition camera, using the camera in its newly re-designed studio and mounted on a jib arm.
According to Don Perez, director of technology and operations, the station needed a camera that would complement the seven Sony HDC-930 cameras that KUSA, a Gannett station, had already installed as part of its HD upgrade.
The station also needed a camera that could go where others couldn't.
