Kabah (also spelled Kabaah, Kabáh, Kahbah and Kaba) is a ruined city of the Maya civilization in the south-east of the state of Yucatán, Mexico.
Kabah is to the south of Uxmal, and is connected to that city by a grand 18 km long raised pedestrian causeway 5 meters wide with monumental arches at each end.
The most famous structure at Kabah is the "Palace of the Masks", the fascade decorated with hundreds of stone masks of the long-nosed rain god Chac; it is also known as the Codz Poop, meaning "Rolled Matting", from the pattern of the stone mosaics.

Kabah is located on the south end of a Sacbe, white road, who connect this archeological site with Uxmal and Nohpat, another great city who was builted in a the top of a fertile hill, the most fertile of the entire region.
In the beginin, the inhabitants of Kabah was probably a group of families dedicated to an incipient agriculture, hunt for subsitence and a technological development directed basicly to the recolection of rain water and the carved of rock.
Kabah is located on the bottom part of a valley or karstic depresion, surrounded of middle size hills, more of them with small temples on the top, where you can see the tall buildings of Nohpat and Uxmal.

Kabah lies along Yucatan's "Ruta Maya", some 20 minutes south of Uxmal along highway 261.
Kabah’s main building is known as the Codz-Poop ("Coiled Mat"), or Palace of the Masks.

The most famous of the structures at Kabah is the Codz Pop Temple, or the temple of the masks, with it's front facade completely covered with 270 of the bug-eyed, long-nosed masks of the rain god Chac, constructed of interlocking finely dressed stone mosaic.
There is also a large multi-story palace complex with elaborate facades and cornices, on the east side of the road, and the Mirador, or great temple, and the Great Mayan Arch across from it on the west side.
Kabah was a subsidiary, or minor center and a residential site, that was probably associated with a unique family group or tribe, and maybe with certain trades or manufacturing functions.

Kabah was doubtless a dependent city of the Xiu state, since it was so near the Xiu capital and, moreover, is connected with it by the causeway just mentioned.
The most interesting structure at Kabah is the so-called Palace of the Masks [Codz Poop], which is 151 feet long and contains ten handsome chambers arranged in two tiers of five each; the chambers of each pair are built one directly behind the other, with a single outside doorway for each pair.
The effect of this lavishly sculptured façade is overwhelming, and the building itself is one of the handsomest examples of Puuc architecture that has come down to us.

The Kabah is nearly in the middle of the Holy Mosque as it was built through the centuries around this most holy of sites, in the shape of a big, high square room with a height of 15 meters.
The four corners of Kabah are the fl corner, the Shami corner (referring to the most northeastern corner), the Yamani corner (the southwestern corner) and the Iraqi corner.
The stone was originally a portion of the Kabah when Abraham originaly built it, but when Quraish (the historic tribe rulers of Makkah rebuilt it during their era they left the stone out, accordingly, it is a part of the Holy Kabah.

In a similar Puuk style that can be found in Sayil, Labna and Xlapak, Kabah is another example of this construction style that flourished in the eighth and ninth centuries throughout the Yucatan.

My second impression is that Kabah is still struggling to move past their roots as a teeny-bopper band.
