  Kabru 2004
The members of The Extreme Summit Team plan on scaling Kabru, the peak of the Himalayas, in 2004.
Kabru is the highest unclimbed peak on the list of NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association), and it is situated in East Nepal, on the very border with India.
One of the highest peaks of the world, Kangchenjunga (8586m) is located some 10 km north of Kabru.

Kabru is a mountain peak in the Himalayas on the border of India and Nepal located south of Kangchenjunga.
It consists of 2 peaks, Kabru North and Kabru South, the higher of which - Kabru North - is 7394 meters high (24,259 feet).
It was first climbed by C.R. Cooke on 18 November 1935, a world record at the time.

CHENNNAI: Guess who - or what - Kabru is? It is the second fastest India-made supercomputer that has been commissioned at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) here.
The institute said Kabru is the second fastest computer that any Indian research organisation has - and it has been developed at a relatively cheap cost.
"Kabru was developed during research in Lattice Gauge Theory," IMSc director R. Balasubramaniam said.

The incredible shrinking supercomputer ranking - Cover Story - Express Computer India
KABRU is the name of a tall Himalayan peak that remains unconquered by human beings.
The idea for Kabru was born when Prof Hari Dass of IMSc, Chennai, started looking for a supercomputer to handle his theoretical physics research, primarily for large-scale simulations in the area of the Lattice Gauge theory.
Because much of the professor’s problems were communications-intensive, the choice of the interconnect was a major factor as it determines the speed of the cluster.

The other side, the ridge was gradual, and meets the main rock that we were thinking of climbing to reach the Kabru Dome.
Unlike on many other mountains where one follows a prominent ridge, on Kabru Dome there were many routes but not one of them safe from dangers and pitfalls...crevasses, ice walls, loose rocks, etc. and these required highly skilled technical climbing.
From this point, Rathong 2,4146 ft (7,317 m), Kabru Main 25,538 ft (7,739 m) and Kabru Dome could be seen in a line.
