Kabuto, unfortunately, is one of those off days, where a desperate attempt to appear "cool" just comes off as another dumb martial arts flick.
Kabuto is the story of a samurai warrior (named Kabuto, simply enough) determined to save the land from Tamamushi, an evil enchantress who took over the kingdom after she seduced the reigning lord.
Kabuto is just not worth the effort unless you really like the martial arts thing, and even then it's a lesser work.

Kabuto is probably one of the most mysterious characters in the entire series, right up there with Itachi for those who think he's a mystery (I don't), and various characters who we've only caught brief glimpses of for like two seconds (like that Akatsuki guy in 234).
Kabuto is working as a spy/servant for Orochimaru in exchange for having Oro eventually bring his family (clan?) back to life with Edo Tensei (either that or teaching the actual jutsu to Kabuto).

After surviving Kabuto's onslaught, the Sea Reapers have adapted themselves to their new home, developing mystical powers with the ability to perform lightning quick attacks using swords and bows, and cast elemental spells to cause untold chaos within a massive radius.
Although Kabuto is not sure how he came to be on this beautiful island save for a serial number "001" imprinted on his stomach, he is definitely sure of four things: He's big, he's hungry, he's mad as hell and he'll do anything to protect the one thing he still loves: His new home.
When Kabuto turned on the Sea Reapers, many were killed; the survivors of the onslaught who fled to the oceans were demoralized.

Kabuto is troubled deeply by the invasion of his peaceful planet by the evil Mechs and sets out to seek the help of the heroic Sea Rippers.
As is clearly obvious, Kabuto tries to be intimidating despite his physical shortcomings, which boosts his self-confidence but also unfortunately sparks resentment in his fellow creatures, the result of which is an endless stream of bloodshed and death.

A superb Kabuto, that's origins date to either the second Mongolian invasion of Japan, or perhaps 1st or 2nd invasion of Korea by Japan.
The kabuto has been taken from the battlefield and adapted to the Japanese style with three lame shikoro (helmet neck guard) of brown lacquered leather with printed deerskin leather bindings, with silk trim lacing on lower lame and fukigaeshi (turn backs of the kabuto).
Its provenance is of particular interest as very few antique korean armor's exist today and its likely this kabuto was brought back from korea by one of the samurai sent by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in the late 1500's.
