		Bomber missions continued to be flown from Anderson AFB, Guam, but were also operating out of Kadena AB, Okinawa and U Tapao Royal Thai Airfield, Thailand.
		In January 1968 the North Koreans seized the USS Pueblo resulting in Operation Port Bow, where 11 additional B-52Ds were deployed to Anderson AFB and 15 B-52Ds to Kadena AB.
		The presence of B-52Ds at Kadena AB, introduced during Port Bow, caused many protests by the Okinawans including marching to the gates and perimeter of the flight line.

	Arc Light 1966
		On 9 September 1966, Colonel Johnson deployed the Wing and its components to the Pacific to provide aircraft and personnel to the Arc Light program, Anderson AFB, Guam and the tanker task force organization, Kadena AB, Okinawa.
		Conventional bombing missions from Anderson AFB to Vietnam and Laos were flown by cells of three B-52Ds each, averaged over 12 hours, and included air refueling by KC-135 tankers from Kadena AB.
		At this time, the primary method of delivering weapons on target was the synchronous offset aiming capability of the B-52D radar bombing and navigation system using geographical features in the target area as aim points.

		Once it was determined by the doctors that the risk for aeromedical evacuation was worth it, Kadena AB officials went into action.
		While he and his wife have visited the hospital to thank the responders there, this was the first time he was able to thank the aeromedical team and aircrew at Kadena AB and listen to their stories of that mission.
