Polynesian Mythology: The Art of Netting Learned by Kahukura from the Fairies
As the fairies were dragging the net to the shore, Kahukura managed to mix amongst them, and hauled away at the rope; he happened to be a very fair man, so that his skin was almost as white as that of these fairies, and from that cause he was not observed by them.
Kahukura kept on stringing his fish with the rest of them.
At last full daylight broke, so that there was light enough to distinguish a man's face, and the fairies saw that Kahukura was a man; then they dispersed in confusion, leaving their fish and their net, and abandoning their canoes, which were nothing but stems of the flax.

Kahukura could see that it was brimming with fish, and soon the canoes began to land, one by one, upon the beach.
As the figures leaped out of their canoes, Kahukura ran to join them, trying his best to blend in with the crowd so that no one would see he was a stranger.
This was not too difficult, for Kahukura was a very fair young man, his skin nearly as pale as the fairies' skin, and besides, it was dark outside, and though a bright moon lighted the beach, the fairies were not interested in each other.

Kahukura have to learn how to hold on or they'll be run over in this year's Baywide competition.
Kahukura coach Brett Fell was most disappointed with his team's scrum and lineout efforts, which didn't come up to scratch, but felt they were good enough - and certainly close enough - to salvage a bonus point in the last quarter when they closed to 13-8 after a Tom Woods try.
Despite having a size advantage Kahukura were pushed off their scrum ball and their untidy lineout presented Te Puke skipper Bobby Baggot with the last of his two tries, the match winner, after he pounced on a slap behind the goal line for a soft score which Miller converted.
