		Kai is animated by proto-blood, a substance secreted by the Gigashadow (the vast insect body of His Divine Shadow).
		Because he is dead, Kai lacks the ability to perform most bodily functions - a major let-down for Zev, who loves the dead man. He also lacks motivation and most emotions, and is unable to love, care or truly feel for others.

		Kai's final 'job' for His Shadow, is to rescue the LEXX from a band of Heretics accompanied by Zev, Stanley and 790.
		Kai obliges, first by killing the body of His Shadow, then by squashing part of his brain and still later by letting loose his pet Cluster Lizard, Squish to eat the other part of his brain (His Shadow is a hard bloke to kill).
		Kai goes on to talk about the way he gradually manages to regain some of the characteristic of his fast-living life, before that is, His Shadow commandeered his libido!

		Kai and Xev finds a prisoner of the original crew, who seems to be a slave.
		All is not as it seems, however, and while Kai and Stan are off to see the Dark Lady in her tower, Xev gets converted back into her original bloated body shape, but no change to her expiry date.

		"Lexx" is different, in that it explores the amoral side of humanity not by showing these usually undesirable traits not just in minor characters, but in the main characters, in the crew of the Lexx itself.
		True, the low-budget nature of the series may make it ideal for viewing in late night hours as an alternative to infomercials, but the series is nothing if not imaginative.
		Other series have cropped up since, with similar themes of a powerful space ship crewed by fools and lechers, but "Lexx" is definitely unique in that its flawed characters are so familiar that they become endearing.

		It does have a similar feel to the above Andromeda episode but the period details and the zombies (which were mentioned by name: "You put me in a room full of zombies!!!") were nicely done and it was a satisfying episode.
		Lexx - most obviously Kai ("the Jimmy Dean of the walking dead" as well as being the last of the Brunnen G and an assassin for the Divine Order) is an undead assassin who has been dead for millenia and is only kept alive with proto-blood and being put into stasis - see:
