Climbing in, I was staggered by the fantastic, unobstructed view of Kailash from my front door -- and so it remained, until some typically brain-dead campers erected their toilet tent directly in my line of sight to the mountain.
I've been thinking of Kailash in feminine terms, but according to myth it is intensely male: a mountainous phallus, rotted in the unknowable depths and rising into the gem-studded halls of Heaven.

Satyarthi had started a journal called The Struggle Shall Continue, when one day, he recounted, an old man staggered into the journal's office with a horrifying story of children working in a brick factory, never seeing the light of day.
From the journal office in Delhi, to founding the South Asian Coalition on Child Servitude, to leading the Global March Against Child Labor, Satyarthi said he has dedicated himself to reclaiming the lives of the world's most vulnerable population: the millions of children who are exploited and abused in a form of modern-day slavery.
