 | | The rate of foal survival among the Kaimanawa herd is lower than that of other wild horse herds, but it is not clear why this is the case (Franklin, 1995). |
 | | It is, however, entirely consistent with the published data (Balcomb et al., 1983; Hornshaw et at, 1986; Smith et at, 1977; Smith & Grosch, 1976; Sullivan et at, 1979; Twigg et al., 1988) that the low rate of foal survival could be attributable to the application of 1080 within their range. |
