		Kalamansig has its legendary origin of folklore from a Manobo term “Kulaman-sa-ig” which literally means “Manobo of the Water”.
		It was then the seat of government of the municipality of Lebak which was composed of barrio Kalamansig, Salaman and Sebayor.
		On December 29, 1961, Kalamansig was officially created into a municipality by virtue of Executive Order No. 459 by former President Carlos P. Garcia.
